About the project

The artistic research project TALKING OBJECTS LAB explores plural forms and practices of knowledge beyond the Eurocentric canon. Running since 2020, it is led by a team of curators from Kenya, Senegal and Germany: Malick Ndiaye (Musée Théodore Monod, Dakar), Chao Tayiana Maina (African Digital Heritage, Nairobi), Mahret Ifeoma Kupka (Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt), and Isabel Raabe (freelance curator, Berlin).

The LAB unfolds through artist residencies, workshops, event series and exhibitions. Among other projects, we are currently preparing the series UNEXPECTED LESSONS – Knowledges of Body and Sound, which will take place at Radialsystem Berlin from May 2026 to February 2027.

The organisational office of TALKING OBJECTS is based in Berlin at raabe – arts and cultural projects gUG.
