"Ré-imaginer le passé - Une utopie de vivre ensemble dans la différence" part de l'imaginaire pour repenser la réalité. Le projet propose un avenir à partir d'une perspective précoloniale afin d'ouvrir les yeux sur des récits et des approches conceptuelles polyperspective. Des artistes et des chercheurs du continent africain, de la diaspora, et d'Europe, collaboreront et théoriseront ensemble dans le cadre des "LABoratoires": Ils sont invités à explorer le pouvoir poétique de la pratique artistique et de l'imagination.
"Ré-imaginer le passé" est à la fois un laboratoire et un projet d'exposition. L'équipe curatoriale germano-sénégalaise, composée d'El Hadji Malick Ndiaye, Mahret Ifeoma Kupka, Isabel Raabe et Ibou C. Diop, organise des laboratoires à Dakar et dans l'espace numérique. Les resultats aboutiront à des expositions au Musée Théodore Monod à Dakar et au KINDL Center for Contemporary Art à Berlin.
“Ré-imaginer le passé – Une utopie de vivre ensemble dans la différence” (English: Reimagining the Past) departs from the imaginary as a means of rethinking current realities. The project proposes a future from a precolonial perspective to open our eyes to a polyperspective narratives and conceptual approaches. Artists and researchers from the African continent, the diaspora and Europe, will collaborate and theorise together in “LABoratoires”, exploring the poetic power of artistic practice and imagination.
“Ré-imaginer le passé” is both a laboratory and exhibition project. The German-Senegalese curatorial team, comprised of El Hadji Malick Ndiaye, Mahret Ifeoma Kupka, Isabel Raabe and Ibou C. Diop, will host labs in Dakar and in digital space. The results will culminate in exhibitions at the Musée Théodore Monod in Dakar (25 November 2023 - 8 January 2024) and the KINDL Center for Contemporary Art in Berlin (23 March - 28 July 2024)
